Hooray! A big thank you to Nia and also to Ohsnap, with their help (gold) I was able to buy a mount! I had saved up near half, and Nia has been making potions like crazy. She lent me 38 gold and I borrowed 10 gold from Ohsnap (paid him back an hour later when my auctions closed). So why the big deal over a sheep with horns? Sixty percent increased speed, that’s why. Plus you can virtually run people over on the road or stand in Ironforge and show off :P. The ram makes a funny noise when it is activated, you poof on top and it makes a sort of sheep “baaah” sound, I laugh every time, probably everyone else around me as well!
Nia and I have been spending a lot of time in Stranglethorn Vale. Her pet bear Santaclaws has been behaving well, like many pets sometimes they get excited and will chase prey though another group and bring back more. We usually end up running, yes we run a lot. We had to take crystals from goblin miners throughout the hills in Stranglethorn. They proved challenging because they like to bring friends and run when hurt to get more. I pulled one at a time to Nia and eventually we collected our twenty crystals. To liven up the grind we would kill nearby basilisks. The basilisks are relatively easy to take down because they won’t run like most other beasts.
Binky has been doing very well (level 16 I think). He joined the Friendly Fisherman guild and I also heard he is recruiting. Binky was feeling adventurous after the large Horde raid in Loch Modan, so he met us in Theramore and we swam down the coast to Gadgetzan, stopping along the way for a dance party! Gadgetzan is a cool place, it is run by goblins like Booty Bay so it is neutral and also has a cross faction auction house to trade with the horde. If you remember the movie Mad Max (with Mel Gibson and Tina Turner), Gadgetzan looks much like the city Bartertown, and even has a Thunderdome!
The guild has been making many trips into the Scarlet Monastery. Aerials has been trying to collect all the pieces of the Scarlet set. One of the earlier runs with Smote was very interesting. Smote is an engineer and packs a shrinking ray gun. Well it doesn’t always work correctly and a few times ended up shrinking us temporarily. It’s actually quite funny being an even shorter Dwarf, it was like being a Gnome! When the ray gun does work correctly our enemies are reduced in size and power. The engineer’s trinkets really help to break up the grind. Cheers Smote!
While running through the Hinterlands I saw a mine that was crawling with beasts. A Paladin came out of nowhere and rushed the mine. Immediately he was swarmed with two raptors, a giant spider, and a buzzard. We could have helped, but hey, it was a Paladin! Nia and I watched from a distant hill laughing. Sounds mean I know, but it’s not like he was in any danger, Paladins are very resilient. We just liked watching him get swarmed :D. I could have ninja’d the mine after he ran off but I didn’t, I’m not a Paladin ya know, I do have some morality and values!
