Hogit's Story

Arsenal Team In Molten Core

Arsenal Team Members of Hogit’s previous guild recently invited him to a fairly new guild the Arsenal Team. Compromised of more than seventy active level sixty players, the Arsenal Team has made a lot of progress in Molten Core. Led by Gunners and Wintersnow our last run into Molten Core was very successful. After fighting through the Molten Giants, Ancient Corehounds, Firelords, Flame Imps, and Lava Surgers, the Arsenal Team was introduced by Molten Core’s first boss Lucifron.

The Molten Core lies at the very bottom of Blackrock Depths. It is the heart of Blackrock Mountain and the exact spot where, long ago in a desperate bid to turn the tide of the dwarven civil war, Emperor Thaurissan summoned the elemental Firelord, Ragnaros, into the world.

Lucifron down Lucifron is described as the second easiest challenge in Molten Core. The general strategy is to pull the two guards away from Lucifron and take them down first. Hogit was chosen to tank the second guard who charmed him a few times. I think he took some shots at Gunners, sorry! When the two guards were killed the entire raid focused on Lucifron and after a few minutes we were standing over his corpse.

taking a loot break After any boss in Molten Core comes the most difficult part, loot distribution. Lucifron drops a lot of caster equipment so a few of us took a break near the back of the cave while the rest of the raid tried to figure it out. Somone crafted a small campfire and we all got comfortable; it could be a while. I think two priests walked away with a neck piece and dagger and the the rest of us burned through two campfires which last about ten minutes each. :P

Magmadar up close Considered the first “real boss” in Molten Core up next on our list was Magmadar; the biggest baddest corehound ever. Hogit used his spyglass to catch a glimpse of the beast from a safe distance. Magmadar spits out molten lava which forms fiery puddles on the ground. Additionally he goes into a “Killing Frenzy” and destroys any within melee distance. Lucifron drops a Hunter skill “Tranquilizing Shot” designed specifically to remove Magmadar’s frenzy. We quickly cleared the Ancient Corehound packs up to Magmadar and engaged with him three times but ended up calling the fight for the next night. Arsenal Team will be back Maggie!

Goblin Engineer Hogit

Goblin Engineer Hogit has taken up engineering in his spare time now that his mining efforts are outsourced. In a single sitting and about 30 gold, Hogit leveled to 225 engineering and choose the goblin specialty path. The goblin master trainer Nixx Sprocketspring resides in Gadgetzan. The difference between his training and that of a gnome is that goblin engineering packs a real punch; in the form of big explosives! :P Once I craft my prerequisite bombs and explosive sheep Nixx will give me a certified goblin engineering membership card. Which states “A member in good standing of the Goblin Experimental Engineering Korporation.” (GEEK ?) Here’s to blowing sh!t up!

Elessedil's Story

Onyxia’s Shadow

Shadow at Onyxia's Lair During a Kingsblood hunt in Dustwallow Marsh Elessedil discovered the entrance to Onyxia’s Lair. She approached the dragon’s gate without fear, challenging the beast within. They would meet soon enough, but not today. Instead Elessedil killed all of the dragonkin surrounding the swamp. I think they were 60 elites, and hundreds of them… nerf Priests!

Onyxia is the daughter of the mighty dragon Deathwing, and sister of the scheming Nefarion Lord of Blackrock Spire. Onyxia resides in a fiery cave below the Dragonmurk, a dismal swamp located within Dustwallow Marsh. There she is guarded by her kin, the remaining members of the insidious Black Dragon Flight.
