The Ahn’Qiraj War Begins

Hogit with supplies for the war effort As the War of the Shifting Sands has progressed a massive effort for supplies was launched by both Horde and the Alliance. Over the last month boxes have been pouring in from all over Azeroth. The city of Ironforge is literally overflowing with crates, sacks, and pallets of materials. Hogit took a tour of the Military Ward in Ironforge to review the total of supplies collected; we were only days from finishing.

Hogit and the war council Once the required supplies were collected, they began shipping them to the front lines in Silithus. A war council had formed temporarily in Cenarion Hold to organize the troops and flow of materials. A massive army lined the road leading to the gates of Ahn’Qiraj with Alliance on one side and Horde on the other.

Server fighting big bugs Ilterendi led by the champion Lornath, gathered at the gates with The Scepter of the Shifting Sands. When the time came they rang the gong and opened the ancient seal. An almost electric hum emanated from the earth; something had awakened and was stirring below our very feet. The locked gates were gone and Qiraji warriors led by General Rajaxx swarmed out into the crowd of Alliance and Horde. All over Azeroth reports came in that near each of the silithid hives giant floating obelisks had appeared. Huge Colossus roamed the hives destroying anyone who dared confront them.

Casualties of the war The battle raged for the entire day. Groups composed of mixed guilds attempted attacks on the hive Colossus but failed many times. A group of Horde managed to bring one down after hours of graveyard zerging. The Qiraji army was eventually pushed back through the gates. The battle had been won, but the war had just begun. Silithus was littered with corpses; a reminder that every victory comes with a price.
