During the invasion a few new encounters were added to some of the old instances. A more popular one was a lich in Stratholme because of its proximity to the entrance. Elessedil and I were farming it every fifteen minutes and on a few of those runs we ran across Hearthsinger Forresten. Now a member of the afterlife, he was a fancy fellow in his previous: Woollies of the Prancing Minstrel, Songbird Blouse, Rainbow Girdle, and the sought after Piccolo of the Flaming Fire. If you are looking for your own brokeback flute, from the East Gate travel left under the bridge and make a sharp right under the awning. Hearthsinger sometimes spawns here and can be pulled and killed quite easily with two, even solo for a Rogue. With the piccolo in hand you to can annoy everyone around the auction house mailbox!

With the coming of the new patch, the Lich King Kel’Thuzad launched an invasion into Azeroth. Not even Ironforge was safe from the Scourge’s reach; a floating necropolis waited just outside, strengthening the undead shock troups gathering below. The Argent Dawn organized in force at Light’s Hope Chapel dispatching groups of adventurers to the various fronts. There were active targets in the Burning Steppes so Hogit headed out.
Upon arriving in the wartorn wasteland it was obvious this was no solo task for a fat Dwarf. After a quick shout of “looking for group” Hogit was greeted by a friendly and familiar voice; Deidredvine, one of Elessedil’s good friends was there. Deidredvine invited Hogit to join them and the real fun began. The battle started off slow with small pulls of the undead, but at some point things got out of control and mobs of the creatures were swarming anyone within line of sight. As if it couldn’t be worse our group had summoned an elite to deal with and no healer in range. We ended up kiting it half-way across the zone until the ghouls returned to their camp. Good times!
While Hogit continued the fight on the ground, Elessedil had brought the battle home to the Lich King himself inside the floating necropolis of Naxxramas. She had recently joined forces with the guild Ilterendi and they were busy working on Anub’Rekan, the first boss in the Spider Wing. “Shhh… it will all be over soon,” he whispered as they entered his lair. On their successful attempt he dropped Cryptfiend Silk Cloak and Bonescythe Bracers.
