I’ve noticed there are a lot of celebrations in Azeroth that contain explosives and the Midsummer Fire Festival is no exception. The festival mirrors the heat of summer by lighting huge fires across the land; I guess they didn’t grow up with Smokey the Bear. There were a number of rewards available to adventurers including a Captured Flame pet, but this year Hogit was after the Crown of the Fire Festival. The crown is only given to the bravest because it requires stealing a flame from each of the enemy’s major capital cities.
Hogit began the journey by traveling to the Undercity whose flame was near the entrance and posed no challenge. From there he stowed away on a Horde zeppelin bound for Orgrimmar. Riding in was easy enough because Hogit had the element of surprise (naked Dwarf on a ram mount), but leaving was a bit more difficult; the Horde loved the Dwarf too much to see him go without a fight! After a corpse run Hogit was off to the last stop, Thunder Bluff. This city is rarely populated but the guards are a pain because the buildings will dismount you. A little prime rib never stopped Hogit; he captured the last flame and hearthed back to Ironforge. After realizing he was not a crown type of Dwarf he vendored it and left to take a nap.
