Elessedil's Story

No Rest For The Weary

Frostsaber Rock in Winterspring For the past two years I have been trying to get on the Wintesaber Trainers’ good side, which by the way, is no small task. This small group of reclusive Night Elves raises and trains Wintersabers in Winterspring, and getting exalted with them means you can purchase one of their fast and beautiful mounts for a mere ninety gold. Don’t let the amount of gold fool you, for there is a much bigger price to pay to ride one of these cats.

Rivern Frostwind atop Frostsaber Rock Rivern Frostwind is the Elf to talk to and start your journey. He can be found in Northern Winterspring atop Frostsaber Rock; getting to the rock can be quite dangerous as well, for there are stealthed tigers all over the area ready to claw you open and feed you to their young. You might have to get used to getting knocked off your mount and mauled every time you make your way to the frozen peak, but as long as you don’t stop running you should be fine.

Elessedil in Shadow Form grinding Wintersaber Trainers reputation I had to make some adjustments to myself in order to complete this quest. Being a Holy Priest would only hold me back when it came to killing quickly, so I enhanced the shadow spells I had and acquired a few more. I almost never rested or drank except when killing Frostmaul Giants by myself, and only stopped once in while to repair and empty my bags full of junk which would quickly turn into a nice amount of gold.

Elessedil riding the Winterspring Frostsaber I accepted Rivern’s many quests of bringing hundreds of meat from Chillwind Chimaeras and Shardtooth Bears, slaying dozens of Frostmaul Giants, and most of all killing thousands of Winterfall Shaman and Ursa. In the end it was easily over eight hundred quests I had to do, but I regret nothing. I met many great people along the way. We were to carry the same burden which in turn would create a bond among us that will always remain. When I see someone mounted on this beautiful beast I can look at them and nod, and we’ll both think to each other “I know, I know.” and smile.

    Hooray!

  2. Cornpo Says:

I heard chuck norris did the quest twice and with no clothes on.

  3. Samburu Says:

    Congrats Elessedil!

I remember seeing you in the village often - what a journey eh? (Got my reins around the same time as you.) Do you think you’ll ever go back to visit the furbolgs?

Great story of your accomplishment! See you server-side!

  4. Lamthara Says:

    Congratulations Elessedil!

It’s a very beautiful mount and i am sure you’ll treat the tiger well. After I’ve read this I’ve thought that probably i should get involved in these quests too. I also like Winterspring but as you said being an holy priest makes all the killing process pretty slow. Recently i’ve gone there to take 15 “winterspring blood samples” for to get my virtuous bracers… and every two little kittens killed I had to drink.
Slow and boring more than hard :’(

I think I will continue to farm the furbolgs just to finish getting exalted with the Timbermaw; I have very little to go so why not finish.

As for killing stuff in Holy spec well, it takes about twice as long as in shadow form. It would have been impossible to finish the quest without shadow magic at my side, you have to constantly compete with other farmers at the village, so killing as fast as you can, turning in the quest at the rock and coming back even faster is key. You might also want to get speed enchant on gloves and mithril spurs on boots.

    Grats Eless!

Just wondering though, is the winterspring mount an epic one? (100% faster)

  7. Elessedil Says:

yes it’s epic and is 100% faster, yet it only requires 75 riding skill.

  8. Cameron Says:

Doing this quest now myself, good job I’m rather compulsive or it may never be done.

Congrats on getting this fine looking mount, oh and, you have Lurky too! :D
